St. Dionysius Graveyard

On the day that St. Denis (the patron saint of Paris) was murdered in the French capital, it rained blood in the graveyard of St. Dionysius. A similar occurrence is said to warn the village of any impending disaster.

The fort in which the church now stands was said to be the home of Gorlais in the Arthurian Legend.

The village is situated on the B3279 between Newquay and St Austell.
